About FMC (Factorial Math Competition)

Since it was founded in 2006, Surya Institute has held and facilitated students to compete in various international competitions, amongst them: KANGAROO Math Contest, American Mathematics Competition (AMC), Australian Mathematics Competition (Ausmac), Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO), Canadian Mathematics Competition, International Mathematics Tournament of Town (TOT), Asian Science and Math Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools (ASMOPSS) and several more.

With all this experience, Surya Institute still has the desire to create a new type of mathematics competition.  This time, each participant will be able to measure, evaluate and continue to develop their mathematical skills.  This is made possible as each participant will receive his or her respective evaluation sheet.  This new competition with a different concept is called the “Factorial Math Competition”. And held the first Factorial Math Competition in March 2020.

Why call it “factorial”?  Because a factorial number will produce a value multiple times itself, as a result of multiplying that number with all the numbers before it.

Therefore, Surya Institute hopes that through the Factorial Math Competition, all participants will be able to develop their mathematical skills multifold times over, resembling a factorial number.
