The Photon Science Competition (PhSC) is a collaborative initiative between Surya Institute and SIMETRI Foundation. The SIMETRI Foundation has been training the Indonesian Physics Olympiad Team for the Asian and International Physics Olympiad for over 20 years. Both Surya Institute and SIMETRI Foundation share the same mission of fostering students’ abilities to ensure their success in mathematics and science sectors.
This year, on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, the 2nd Photon Science Competition (PhSC) 2025 Indonesia was organized by the Surya Institute for the Promotion of Science (SIPS). Students from different schools in Indonesia participated in this science competition. PhSC 2025 was held in Medan, Pekanbaru, Batam, Palembang, Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Balikpapan, Makassar, Bali, Mataram and Timika.
A total of 927 students participated in this competition, with details as follows:
EPSILON (Grade 1-2): 175 students.
DELTA (Grade 3-4): 188 students.
GAMMA (Grade 5-6): 211 students.
BETA (Grade 7-8): 239 students.
ALPHA (Grade 9-10): 114 students.
